Dipsy is an antagonist in Five Nights at Tubbyland.

Appearance[]

Normal Nights[]

Dipsy is a green tubbybot, with a gray rectangle painted on his belly acting as a fake television, and a tall pointy head decoration. Out of all the tubbybots in the game, Dipsy seems to be the least damaged, with his right eye being ripped off, while the left reveals an endoskeleton eye with a red pupil. Some of the suit is also missing from the back of his head.

Dream Night[]

Plush Dipsy in Dream Night (prior to version 2.0 and in the revamp of Five Nights at Tubbyland) is much smaller than normal Dipsy. His entire body is completely intact, and he wears the cow hat that Dipsy in the show wears.

Behavior[]

Dipsy is inactive until Night 3 and starts on the Performance Stage. After leaving the Performance Stage, dipsy will move to the Party Area, then he will either move through the Party Hall to the Repair Hall, then to the Left Door area, crawling through the ventilation shaft into Dining Room 2, or he will move directly through Dining Room 1 to Dining Room 2. Once entering there through either side, he will then enter The Office.

He can be held back with the Fumes Machine, which is limited and drains power while it is being used, meaning it should not be used until absolutely necessary. If the fumes are released for long enough when viewing the room Dipsy is inside, he will return to either the Performance Stage or the Party Area. The fumes cannot be used at the Performance Stage or Dining Room 2, since the fumes would be useless in the former as he cannot move back any further, and for the latter, it is the last room he enters before The Office, meaning he must be kept out of there to avoid him.

When he is in The Office, Dipsy will activate an alarm, draining power and disabling the door (which includes opening it, if it is closed) until the power runs out.

Trivia[]

  • Dipsy is distracted by the fumes because he was given a stronger sense of smell to put ingredients into the Custard Machine to save money, and the fumes supposedly make him think he found the ingredients.
  • Dipsy was supposedly a problem during development, since the game developer, Clicky, said on a side note: "P.S: Dipsy hates me". This is likely because his behavior was difficult to implement.
  • Dipsy laughing when he moves, in addition to always moving towards The Office, is similar to Freddy Fazbear's behavior in Five Nights at Freddy's.
    • Prior to the 2.0 Update, he would also not move backwards at any point, in addition to having a set path, making them even more similar.
  • Dipsy is the only animatronic in the first game to not have a jumpscare.
    • Dipsy was originally going to have a jumpscare, but it was scrapped.
    • His counterparts, Dipsy 2.0 and Prototype Dipsy, can kill the player in their respective games however.
  • Dipsy is the only tubbybot in the game that can go through the vent between Dining Room 2 and the Left Door.
  • Prior to the revamp, there was a bug where after Dipsy crawled through the vent, he was not visible in the Left Door camera despite still being able to enter The Office.
  • Prior to the 2.0 Update after the revamp, when Dipsy entered The Office, the alarm would not play, leaving only the garbled noise.
  • Dipsy shares similarities with Tinky Winky 2.0 in the second game and The Original in the third, as they all activate on the third night and drain power in some fashion. The Original was even supposed to be a Dipsy animatronic before it was vandalized.
  • The music that Dipsy plays in Dining Room 2 prior to the revamp is the song when the paycheck is shown, but inverted and a little slowed down.
    • In the Christmas Revamp Update, this was scrapped and changed to the sound he makes while in The Office.
  • Dipsy was originally intended to be the main antagonist of Five Nights at Tubbyland, but this was later scrapped, and changed to Po.
    • This was referenced with The Original being a Dipsy model.
  • The Dipsy plush from Dream Night appears to be the only one who has its accessory at all times.
  • Dipsy's unused scream resembles a distorted low pitched version of Po's scream.
  • Much like the second and third game, clicking Dipsy on the poster in The Office will say "I like paperclips".
  • Prior to the 2.0 Update, Dipsy's behavior was significantly different. Instead of his route to The Office being split at the Party Area, he had one set route, going from the Performance Stage, to the Party Area, to the Party Hall, to Dining Area 1, to Dining Area 2, through the ventilation shaft to the door, and then into The Office.
    • In addition, he behaved more similarly to Tinky Winky when responding to the Fumes Machine, only slowing down when it was activated from Dining Room 1 regardless of where he was, and never moving backwards.

Occupation Former Entertainer
Starting area Performance Stage

Dipsy is an antagonist in the demo of Five Nights at Tubbyland.

Appearance[]

Dipsy, like the other tubbybots in the beta, looks similar to Dipsy from the full game, except there is a hole where his eye was instead of it looking like it was ripped out, and all of his suit sections are connected. He also has a pale skin color like all the other Tubbybots as well. The reason for this is unknown. He also holds his missing eye in many of the cameras.

Behavior[]

It is unknown what exactly his behavior is, as the demo only goes up to Night 2, though it can be assumed that he behaved like Laa-Laa, as they both go to the exact same locations and the fact that he was going to have a jumpscare.

Trivia[]

  • There were two scrapped files that were released by Clicky showing Laa-Laa and Dipsy from the demo standing in the doorway, which showed that there was originally going to be a door light, but it was replaced by the Left Door camera to add more originality.
  • Apparently, Dipsy cannot appear in the Party Hall with just Laa-Laa, due to there not being a texture for that instance.
  • Dipsy in the demo carries his missing eye in his hand in most cameras, while Dipsy in the full game does not.
  • According to Clicky, Dipsy was going to be based on the actual Teletubby suit with his red eye, but it was changed due to lack of modeling skill.

Dipsy 2.0
Mugshot dipsy
Gender Male
Species Upgraded Green Tubbybot
Occupation Entertainer
Starting area Dipsy's Arcade

Dipsy 2.0 is an antagonist in Five Nights at Tubbyland 2.

Appearance[]

Dipsy 2.0 is a green tubbybot with a gray rectangle on his belly representing a television, and a completely straight head decoration. Just like the other upgraded tubbybots, Dipsy can change his eye appearance, and he has a lower jaw completely separate from his upper head.

Behavior[]

Dipsy 2.0 will start in Dipsy's Arcade. He will then appear in front of the camera, staring, with human-like eyes. Afterward, he will travel through the Tubby Toilets and the Tubby Hall into The Office. If the Smoke Machine is not activated, he will attack the player. Unlike other tubbybots, Dipsy 2.0 does not bring down the Camera Monitor upon entering The Office, but he will still cause the lights to flicker and make noise. This can be a problem, as the player can be unable to notice him entering fast enough to put up the smoke in time unless the player can react quickly. Dipsy gives about as much time to put up the smoke as Laa-Laa 2.0, and as of the Thanksgiving Update, he appears in The Office more commonly. If fended off, he returns to his starting position in Dipsy's Arcade.

Trivia[]

  • Dipsy will speak in a demonic voice when he moves. These sounds are voiced by the games creator, Clicky.
    • Based on one of the demonic quotes, Dipsy can feel the temperature.
  • Five Nights at Tubbyland 2 is the first game where Dipsy can kill the player.
    • In the first game, Dipsy did not have a jumpscare as he just drained the door power. However, now that Dipsy 2.0 can attack the player in this game, the non-jumpscare role is now instead taken by Tinky Winky 2.0.
  • When in the Tubby Hall camera, Dipsy will remove his suit head, revealing the endoskeleton underneath.
  • Dipsy 2.0's head can be seen in The Office as a decoration in Five Nights at Tubbyland 3: The End Game. If it is clicked, a punch sound and a line saying 'I like paperclips' will play.
    • He will say the same thing if clicked on the poster in The Office in Five Nights at Tubbyland 2.
  • Dipsy 2.0 is the only one who doesn't make an appearance in the game's trailer.
  • Dipsy 2.0 was originally going to enter the Party Room, but it was scrapped due to a mistake during programming, though it can still be seen via a glitch.
    • In this room, he shows his normal eyes.
  • If the player clicks on Dipsy in the Custom Night menu, he will say a long speech on paperclips in a text-to-speech voice:
"A paper clip (or sometimes paperclip) is an instrument used to hold sheets of paper together, usually made of steel wire bent to a looped shape. Most paper clips are variations of the Gem type introduced in the 1890s or earlier, characterized by the almost two full loops made by the wire. Common to paper clips proper is their utilization of torsion and elasticity in the wire, and friction between wire and paper. When a moderate number of sheets are inserted between the two "tongues" of the clip, the tongues will be forced apart and cause torsion in the bend of the wire to grip the sheets together. Too many sheets will cause the elastic limit of the material to be exceeded, resulting in permanent deformation."

Prototype Dipsy
Proto dipsy
Gender Male
Species Prototype Green Tubbybot
Occupation Decomissioned
Starting area Wreckage Closet

Prototype Dipsy is an antagonist in Five Nights at Tubbyland 3: The End Game.

Appearance[]

Prototype Dipsy is a green tubbybot with faded colors, a gray rectangle on his belly immitating a television, and a tall spike as a head decoration. His upper jaw resembles a bloodhound's, like the other prototypes. He is missing his entire right arm and his left arm from the elbow down. He is missing the suit for his lower jaw, right lower leg, and feet. Wires pour out from his right shoulder and left elbow. He has damage on the suit for his thighs, his left upper arm, and his left lower leg, and has large holes on his torso. As stated in the trailer, Prototype Dipsy is a rejected prototype. In a few cameras, he seems to have no eyes, but in most of them, he has normal eyes with brown irises. His eyes become a strange milky colour in his jumpscare.

Behavior[]

Prototype Dipsy starts in the Wreckage Closet and has two stages there. He will then move to the Parts Hall, the Main Hallway, and/or the Ventilation Hall. He can appear at the middle doorway or the ceiling vent. If he gets in, he will kill you. If fended off, he will appear back in the Wreckage Closet. He attacks quick, according to a tip shown on the Game Over screen.

Trivia[]

  • According to TinyThyMelon, all prototypes were made before the creation of the animatronics in Five Nights at Tubbyland.
  • While the prototype tubbybots may appear similar to the upgraded tubbybots, they have no relation.
  • Since Prototype Dipsy does not have a jaw or hands, it is currently unknown how he kills you.
    • But it is most likely that Old Po, or the other prototype animatronics, help and kill the player after Prototype Dipsy attacks.
    • He still has his endoskeleton mouth, though it is very small and will likely be blocked by the suit for his upper head if he tries to bite.
  • Prototype Dipsy is somehow able to enter the vent without arms.
  • Prototype Dipsy's unedited scream is an alarm sound.
  • When Prototype Dipsy is meant to be in his active state in the Wreckage Closet, he will instead appear inactive, and Decimated will appear in his active state in the Wreckage Hall. As such, the file of Prototype Dipsy in his active state in the Wreckage Closet is unused. This is most likely a mistake made while programming the game.
  • Prototype Dipsy from the trailer takes the same, if not very similar pose to the unused file of him standing in the Wreckage Closet.
  • He has an old jumpscare animation in the demo of the game. However it was changed to the current one because Clicky didn't like it.

Dipsy

Species Green Tubbybot
Starting area CAM E

Dipsy was to be an antagonist in the cancelled TubbyLand Return.

Appearance[]

Dipsy, despite still appearing very differently from any of his other incarnations, is the most robotic of the group, with separate limb pieces on his costume, including his torso which is split into three parts. Like his Five Nights at Tubbyland incarnation, he has a green body with a gray rectangle posing as a television screen on his belly, has large ears and a tan face, has a spike antenna, and is missing his right eye. However, there are long wires pouring out of his right eye socket this time, and the eye is simply missing rather than there being a large hole in his face. His face also features a wide smile built into the costume, and his endoskeleton appears to be much more detailed, along with having sharp teeth. Unlike his Five Nights at Tubbyland version, his hands and feet are bare endoskeleton.

Behavior[]

Dipsy begins in CAM E, and wanders from location to location until he reaches the ventilation shaft, where the player will have to hold it closed until he leaves. When viewed in the cameras, he will quickly move away from view, staying hidden until he moves to another camera, requiring the player to memorize his last location in order to keep track of him.

Trivia[]

  • His eye wires are actually animated, as seen in some of his animations.
  • A minigame form of this version of Dipsy can be found in a minigame that was to be in the full version of the game. Footage can be found on this page.
  • Much like Tinky Winky in this game, Dipsy would have been tracked via audio cues.

Species Green Tubbybot
Occupation Former Entertainer
Starting area Theatre

Dipsy makes his 7-year return as an antagonist in The TubbyLand Archives: Act 1.

Appearance[]

Much like other tubbybots, Dipsy is a green tubbybot with a tall pointed spike antenna and a gray rectangle painted on his belly representing a television. Compared to his original counterpart, he is more damaged and broken up as seen with the holes all around his body and gray wires protruding out of them. A portion on the right side of his torso is torn out, revealing the "ribcage" of the endoskeleton, and even the suit of the right upper arm and feet are missing, exposing the endoskeleton beneath as well. His right eye socket has been ripped apart, leaving a black eye with a red pupil dangling out. He is also the only tubbybot to have an intact eye, as seen with his left eye, which features a brown iris.

Behavior[]

Dipsy is the last tubbybot to be active, and can be seen in the Theatre, deactivated. After a while, he'll disappear from the camera. When the player hears him laugh, it is indicating that he will begin to attack the player from the front hallway of The Office. He has four stages in the hall:

  • Starting with the first stage, his right eye can be seen flickering in the darkness.
  • In the second stage, his head is slightly visible.
  • The third stage lets the player see his full body fading in, mainly the face area.
  • His fourth and final stage is him peeking through the doorway, ready to attack.

He can only move whenever the player is watching the cameras, as staying in The Office will stall him. Once he is at his last stage, the player must hide to prevent his attack. They need to wait 4-5 seconds before they can hear him giggling, meaning that he has left and the player is safe to come out of hiding. Getting out of their hiding spot too early will make him kill the player. Dipsy will not reset to the Theatre, and instead stay in the hallway and keep trying to attack the player until their shift is over.

Trivia[]

  • Just like his original counterpart, Dipsy can be heard laughing during gameplay, but unlike him, he can actually kill the player.
    • Dipsy's role of killing the player is similar to Dipsy 2.0 and Prototype Dipsy, as they are the only variations of Dipsy that attack the night guard.
  • A common misconception with Dipsy is that players thought that he would've shut off the power if they are too late to hide from him in Night 6. Dipsy doesn't turn it off, and instead it is actually a scripted event.
  • Dipsy is the only tubbybot that can only be set to 4 A.I. in Custom Custard.

The Playful
Playful
Gender Male
Species Green Tubbybot
Starting area Repair Room

Dipsy (known by his codename The Playful) is an upcoming antagonist in The TubbyLand Archives: Act 2.

Appearance[]

The Playful appears to have a heavily altered design compared to his TubbyLand Return counterpart. However, like that counterpart, he's easily the most robotic of the group, with separate limbs and a torso divided into three sections. He's also a green tubbybot with a gray rectangle as a fake television on his stomach, parts of his endoskeleton being exposed due to pieces of his suit either being missing or heavily damaged. His left eye is lacking an iris, only having a large black pupil. Unlike his original TubbyLand Return counterpart, he has a set of teeth and a glowing red eye hanging out of his right eye socket. His endoskeleton has many wires pouring downwards within the suit pieces.

Behavior[]

TBA

Trivia[]

  • The Playful's jumpscare was revealed via The TubbyLand Activity Center Discord server as a celebration for The TubbyLand Archives: Act 2's GameJolt page reaching 1,000 followers.
