Death, also known as Jumpscares or Game Over, is a game mechanic in Five Nights at Tubbyland, Five Nights at Tubbyland 2, Five Nights at Tubbyland 3: The End Game, and The Tubbyland Archives series.

Five Nights at Tubbyland[]

There are 3 animatronics in Five Nights at Tubbyland who can attack and kill the player, as well as an easter egg hallucination that can crash the game, and another animatronic that does not directly kill the player.

Po[]

Po is only kept at bay by the music box. Keeping the music box wound is vital for survival, and if it winds down fully, Po will kill the player shortly after.

Laa-Laa[]

Laa-Laa is only able to enter through the left door, which can be closed with limited power. If the player fails to close the door in time, or cannot, due to no power left, Laa-Laa will enter the office and kill the player. She is able to run straight into the office from the Repair Hall, so it is recommended to close the door when she is there, and she will also make a sound while she is currently at the Left Door camera.

Tinky Winky[]

Tinky Winky can enter through the right doorway, which cannot be closed, but his highly sensitive hearing makes it so that he cannot move while watched on the camera. If not watched enough, Tinky Winky will enter the office when the camera is next put down, and if the camera is put up again, he will kill the player. Occasionally, on high AI levels, he may immediately move from the Repair Room, his starting area, when beginning the night.

Dipsy[]

Dipsy is unique in the case that he cannot kill the player himself, but instead, if failed to be held back by the fumes, will either stay at the Left Door if the door is already closed, or drain the door power when in the office, leaving the player at the mercy of Laa-Laa. He was going to have a jumpscare in the demo, along with a scream, but they were scrapped due to problems when programming him.

Noo-Noo[]

Noo-Noo is an easter egg. Randomly, when the player puts down the camera monitor, Noo-Noo will appear in the office on the table. He can be kept away by looking at the camera again, but if stared at for too long, Noo-Noo will crash the game after his jumpscare. He is likely to be a hallucination. He will also jumpscare and crash your game if you stay in the title screen for too long.

PTLD-93[]

PTLD-93 is a tubbybot that only appears in Night PTLD, where all the cameras (excluding Dining Room 2) are pitch black, and only PTLD-93 is active. It must be tracked by listening to the sounds in the cameras, and can only be fended off by using CTRL to flash a light in the office which will scare him off. When it catches you in this night, the game will be restarted. It can also crash your game if you input 6/6/6 as the AI levels in the Custom Night menu, and will send you back to the title screen after jumpscaring you after completing the minigame.

Beta[]

In the demo, all of the animatronics could kill you. Dipsy was causing problems during development, however, so he was switched to just drain your door power in the full game.

Po[]

Po is identical to the full game, with only the music box keeping her away.

Laa-Laa[]

Laa-Laa is identical to the full game, randomly wandering around, then going to the Left Door to enter the office to kill you, only being blocked by the door.

Tinky Winky[]

Tinky Winky is identical to the full game, taking a path towards the right door and stopping for a while after being seen on camera. Unlike the full game, however, he will wait for a random amount of time and then wait for you to put up your monitor to kill you when he is in the office.

Dipsy[]

It is unknown how Dipsy kills you in the demo, since he activates on Night 3 and the demo only goes up to Night 2, but as he goes to the exact same places as Laa-Laa, it can be assumed that he would have had the same AI as Laa-Laa before the fumes mechanic was thought of.

Noo-Noo[]

It is only known that he jumpscares you and crashes the game when staying in the title screen for too long in the demo, and does not appear in the Kitchen at all.

Five Nights at Tubbyland 2[]

In the sequel, there are 5 animatronics that can attack and kill the player, along with one that cannot directly kill, like the first game.

Po 2.0[]

Po 2.0 is one of the animatronics that are kept away with the smoke machine, and when she appears in the office, the player will have less time to react then with the others. If the smoke machine is not activated in time, Po 2.0 will kill the player.

Laa-Laa[]

Laa-Laa is one of the animatronics that are kept away with the smoke machine, and she appears more frequently than the others. If the smoke machine is not activated in time, Laa-Laa will kill the player.

Dipsy[]

Dipsy is one of the animatronics that are kept away with the smoke machine, and when he appears, he does not pull down the monitor, meaning that player must pull it down quickly before he attacks. If the smoke machine is not activated in time, Dipsy will kill the player.

Noo-Noo[]

Noo-Noo can see through the smoke in case of a fire, so to defend against him, you must use the toggle transmissions to deactivate him when he's about to activate, as signaled by his music box, or his eyes turning on. If the button is not activated in time, then Noo-Noo will kill the player after a short amount of time.

Po[]

Po has no eyes, and, as such, the smoke will not work on her. Since she cannot see, she relies on noise and movement to sense things, therefore moving and using the smoke machine or cameras, which make noise, will be detrimental. Doing the three things above will fill up the awareness meter, and when full she will kill the player. She cannot enter unless monitor is down, and she cannot appear when another tubbybot has entered, making her less of a threat.

Tinky Winky[]

Tinky Winky can also see through the smoke in case of a fire, and must be kept away by watching him in the Room of Stories. If he manages to leave due to not enough supervision, he will turn out the power for a while. It will re-activate, but Noo-Noo can activate during this time and another tubbybot can appear to kill you when the power comes back.

As of the Thanksgiving update, he flashes his eyes in the dark similarly to the power out with Freddy from Five Nights at Freddy's.

Trivia[]

  • Instead of a jumpscare, the Tubbyland Voice Trumpet merely plays an extremely loud sound randomly when you put down the camera, but this can be just as startling.
  • In the Nightmare Night, all tubbybots that can attack the player have a one frame jumpscare that consists of a single eyeless closeup of their face.

Five Nights at Tubbyland 3: The End Game[]

In this game, half of the animatronics actually kill you while the other half only disables the laptop and sometimes other devices like the monitor. There is also one secret animatronic (PTLD-93) that can crash the game in a special night. As of update 1.0.4, a tip appears on the top-right corner of the death screen.

Po[]

Po is one of the larger threats, being able to kill the player as opposed to disabling the player's devices for a while. She can appear at the two side doors and the vent, though she doesn't move that quickly.

Prototype Dipsy[]

Prototype Dipsy, like Po, can also kill the player, but he comes from the middle door instead of the sides as well as the ceiling vent, and like Po, he does not move very quickly.

Prototype Laa-Laa[]

Prototype Laa-Laa is special, in the way that she will run to the middle door if not watched for enough time on the Supply Closet camera, like Tinky Winky. Unlike him, however, she can kill the player, making her one of the largest threats in the game. The player is able to close the middle door on her once you hear her running, but it would require reflexes if the player does not have the door closed already.

Prototype Tinky Winky[]

Prototype Tinky Winky is a very special case, as he does not appear on any cameras. Instead, he inhabits a space directly below the office, and if the main heater is on for too long, he will sense a fire, and start to climb out of a hole in the office to get the player. He has two stages in the hole, and if he is at the second stage, he will likely kill you the next time the laptop or monitor is put up.

Prototype Po[]

Prototype Po does not kill the player, but she does stand in the middle of the office, disabling your flashlight and laptop for a while, and unlike others, she can enter the office directly from the Main Hallway camera. Closing the middle door while she is there prevents her from entering. She also had a scream in case it was needed in the game, but it wasn't.

Decimated[]

Decimated does not kill the player, but he does walk across the player's screen, disabling your flashlight and laptop for a while. He only comes from the right door, and does not move very fast, making him a very small threat.

Noo-Noo[]

Noo-Noo does not kill the player, but he can attack the player, disabling the lights, laptop, monitor, and the player's power recharging, making him a huge threat. He appears at the left and right door, and makes a noise while he remains there.

The Original[]

The Original is very different from others. He cannot kill the player, but he can run to your office from the Main Area, and if he is blocked out by a door, he will bang on it, draining fifty power. The way to avoid that is to let him in, where he won't do anything but block part of the office for a while. It can be very dangerous when he bangs on the door, especially when you have low power at the time. He also had a scream in case it was needed in the game, but it wasn't.

PTLD-93[]

PTLD-93 only appears on Night X, and he randomly appears in the office. If the player stares at him for too long, he will attack the player and crash the game. The only way to avoid him is to put up the monitor, similar to fending off Noo-Noo from the first game. He also appears very rarely in your office on some nights.

There are 6 animatronics in Act 1 who can attack and kill the player.

Po[]

Po can attack the player if the player doesn't use the intercom to ward her away from the office.

Laa-Laa[]

Laa-Laa can attack the player if they don't manage to hide in the closet to the right of the office in time. You'll know when she's about to enter the office when her eyes disappear from the camera beside either entryway.

Dipsy[]

Dipsy can only attack the player if they don't manage to hide in time. They'll know to hide from Dipsy when he is at his last stage in the hallway and about to attack the player.

Tinky Winky[]

Tinky Winky can attack the player if they don't manage to ward them away from the office using the flashlight.

Noo-Noo[]

Noo-Noo can only attack the player if they hide in the closet for an extended period of time.

PTLD-93[]

PTLD is a tubbybot that is only active on Night X, which plays differently than most of the game before it. It can only attack and kill the player when it locates them in the basement. To keep it away, use Noo-Noo's music box to ward them off. However, if Noo-Noo and PTLD are in the same room as one another, PTLD will attack Noo-Noo, causing it to lose 25% of its health. If attacked four times, Noo-Noo is destroyed and the player is left defenseless. It can also jumpscare the player if they wait on the warning screen for too long.

There are 6 animatronics in Act 2 who can attack and kill the player, as well as one animatronic that cannot directly kill the player.

Trivia[]

  • Tinky Winky from the second game, Tubbyland Voice TrumpetPrototype Po, Decimated, the Original, and Dipsy from the first game do not have jumpscares.
  • The character introduced on Night 3 in each game did not kill you and drained power in some way. These characters are Dipsy from the first game, Tinky Winky from the second game, and the Original from the third game.
  • Instead of a jumpscare, the Tubbyland Voice Trumpet merely plays an extremely loud sound randomly when you put down the camera, but this can be just as startling. This noise can also be heard in Noo-Noo's/Po's secret screen in FNaTL 2 where he is shown pouring the dead corpse of the phone guy out of his nozzle.
  • Dipsy's upgraded counterpart can jumpscare the player, just as Tinky Winky's upgraded counterpart cannot.
  • Laa-Laa had a glitch, that when she is at the left door, and is being watched on the camera, she cannot enter the office and will leave to another room.
    • This was fixed in the Christmas update.
  • Noo-Noo from the first game acts very similarly to Golden Freddy from Five Nights at Freddy's, except he does not need to be watched on the cameras to be summoned.
  • Noo-Noo from the third game was a lot more difficult to deal with, as he entered the office much quicker from the doors, and could even seemingly skip the doors sometimes. This was fixed in an update.
  • The game over screen from the third game bears a strong resemblance to the one from the first game, with Po stuffing you in a Tubby Toast machine.
  • Interestingly, only half of the animatronics in FNaTL 3 can kill you.
  • The death screen for the demo of FNaTL only has Po sitting down, as the Tubby Toaster was not modeled yet.
  • The FNaTL 3 death screen music has part of FNaTL 1 Po's music box in it. This is confirmed to be a reused file by Clicky.
  • In The TubbyLand Archives: Act 1, PTLD-93 can jumpscare the player if they spot them during the main game.
